ARTISTS STATEMENT
Gregory Hartman
The pieces compiled for this portfolio represent my exploration into the world of tattooing, and my growth as an artist. It was through creating these works that I underwent a tremendous amount of introspection and self-discovery. Represented in this portfolio are tattoos that I have done over the years showing what I am capable of doing artistically and my growth as a tattoo artist.
Over the years I have realized how great a tattoo can look if both the client and the artist work together to create a meaningful piece of art that can be permanently placed on the body. As with many of our clients, there are numerous meanings behind each of their tattoos. Perhaps the challenge of bringing clients thoughts and ideas for a tattoo to life promotes the development of the mind. My hope is that my art will move and captivate you, and possibly encourage you to pursue a meaningful tattoo to call your own.
